One Autographed 1982 Masters Tournament Golf Visor!
When I was fourteen years old, my father and I went to the 1982 Masters Tournament Practice Round and the 1982 Masters Tournament Par-3 Contest at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia on Wednesday, April 7th, 1982. My ticket number was 03157. The 1982 Masters Tournament Practice Round was held from the morning to the early afternoon. While the golfers were playing their rounds, my father and I walked around the golf course with the other spectators and watched the golfers play. And, while the golfers were playing their rounds, most of them seemed very relaxed, and a lot of them talked, joked and laughed with their caddies, each other, and sometimes spectators too. The 1982 Masters Tournament Par-3 Contest was held in the afternoon. As I hoped to get some of the golfers' autographs at the 1982 Masters Tournament Par-3 Contest, before the contest, my father and I went to one of the merchandise shops at Augusta National Golf Club and bought a new 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor for me to try to have the golfers sign. The 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor has a yellow map and a big red flag sewn into the panel. While the golfers were playing their rounds, I stood behind the green on the ninth hole with some other spectators and watched the golfers play. When the golfers finished playing their rounds and left the green to walk to the clubhouse, I asked some of them to sign my new 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor. Over fifty golfers, including 1982 Masters Tournament champion Craig Stadler, kindly signed my new 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor. Some of the golfers who signed my new 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor, listed from left to right, were: -bill (top)-about twenty-five golfers total, including: Ron Streck, Jerry Pate, Larry Nelson, Morris Hatalsky, Willie Wood, Tom Weiskopf, Yutaka Hagawa, Bob Gilder, Mark Hayes, Jack Renner (I think!), Bill Rogers, Hubert Green, Jack Nicklaus, Dan Pohl, John Cook (I think!), Jim Holtgrieve, Lee Trevino, Jim Thorpe, Corey Pavin, Chi-Chi Rodriguez, John Schroeder (one time!) and Wayne Levi -bill (bottom)-about twenty golfers total, including: Bob Goalby, Fuzzy Zoeller, Lanny Wadkins, Isao Aoki, Hale Irwin, Bernhard Langer, Tom Watson, Ben Crenshaw, Byron Nelson, Dave Barr, Frank Conner, John Mahaffey (I think!), Charles Coody, Frank Fuhrer III, Gay Brewer and Andy Bean -panel (front)-thirteen golfers total, including: Billy Casper, Raymond Floyd, Peter Jacobsen, Peter Oosterhuis, Lon Hinkle, Jim Simons, Calvin Peete, Keith Fergus, Tommy Aaron, John Schroeder (another time!) and George Archer -panel (back)-seven golfers total: Bruce Lietzke, Brian Lindley, David Graham, Jay Sigel, Bob Lewis, Craig Stadler and Greg Norman -strap (outside)-one or two golfers total: I can't read the name/names! -ticket (front)-one golfer total: Gene Sarazen
When I came home from the 1982 Masters Tournament Practice Round and the 1982 Masters Tournament Par-3 Contest, I put the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor in the closet in my room in our family's air-conditioned, smoke-free home, and I kept it there for several years. Later, I put the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor in a box in the attic in our family's home. When I went on a trip to the US to visit my family in December 2019, I got the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor and brought it back to Kumamoto, Japan at the end of the trip, and I've kept it in a closet in my apartment in Kumamoto, Japan since then. Though the ticket for the 1982 Masters Tournament Practice Round and the 1982 Masters Tournament Par-3 Contest has some creases, it and the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor are in very good condition with no defects and only minor discoloration due to age-the photos above show the details.
When I decided to sell the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor, as I bought the 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor new and obtained the autographs on it in person, and I understood that there was a possibility that the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor could get lost, stolen or tampered with if I sent it to the US to get a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) or a letter of authenticity (LOA) for it, I decided not to get a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) or a letter of authenticity (LOA) for the autographed 1982 Masters Tournament golf visor.
I'm an American, but I've lived and worked in Japan for several years. Please feel free to ask questions before bidding.
